My favourite photo of the week 9

I took this picture on Sunday. Lauren’s godparents had come over from the Isle of Wight for a visit and a catch up. My mother in law is very poorly at the moment with cancer.
We had a lovely day. Lunch out at Whetherspoons and then the afternoon just relaxing back at my mother in laws. The time went by so quickly, Lauren’s godparents are such great company, they couldn’t believe how much Lauren had grown up!

Family time is so precious, with everything that my mother in law is going through at the moment, it really does bring this home!

The paper round.

To cut a long story short, when Lauren was 13, she put her name down for a paper round. Now 3 years later they rang up asking if she’d be interested. Lauren already has a Saturday job, so said no but offered her brothers services. He was chuffed, he’s saving up for a new computer!

Ok…..I’ve had some pretty crappy jobs over the years. Making tea bags and cleaning, who’d have thought a paper round would be on the same level!

Alexander is thankfully only covering the paper round whilst the normal girl is on holiday. We started the paper round on Saturday. The papers were dropped off at our house, so by 10:00 we were out delivering.

To start with the bag was so bloody heavy Alexander couldn’t even lift it, so I had to carry it! We had all good intentions to walk round; we’d only delivered ten papers and we had to return home because the bag was hurting my neck and back! So the rest we delivered by car!

Most were easy to deliver. But I do wonder who comes up with the number system in some streets! It drove us mad! We had to deliver to a couple of flats, one was fine but the other we didn’t know whether you buzzed to go in or put it through the main letter box (I was concerned someone else would take it). A rather unpleasant women on the intercom was no help at all, luckily another resident delievered it for us!

Alexander told me last night he hates doing the paper round. It’s to much ‘effort’. Tell me about it! So I told him fine, Lauren and I would do it; he’d have to give us the money! He was keen on that  idea!!

So, roll on Friday, that’s all I can say!!

Not long to go!

I’m so excited for the summer holidays to begin. It’s just such a lovely feeling, no more getting up at silly o’clock in the morning, meeting up with friends, afternoon naps and meals out! It makes Sunday’s feel even more special knowing no work on Monday! Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love my job as a 1-1 TA, but some days can be especially difficult.

My plans this summer holidays are, to carry on with the couch to 5km. I’m determined to get back into running and I’m full of enthuasim again! Not having to work means I can get up and go running first thing in the morning, so much easier than the evening.

Our bedroom desperately needs decorating, so I’m hoping to do this over the summer break. It won’t be very exciting just neutral colours, I think! Check back with me in September to see if this actually gets done!!

My twin sister Becky will be down to stay in August so I’m looking forward to catching up with her.

I know there will be endless trips to Costa coffee. We’ve recently had a new one open which is walking distance from my house. Deadly!

I hope everyone has a great break and hopefully, I will catch up with Ali and Sammy for a well deserved chat and maybe a glass of wine!!

Monday monthly melfie July

I actually had a couple of melfies lined up for this month but this one was the out right winner!

My beautiful daughter left school last month. On the 19th June she had her prom. To say I was proud was an understatement! She looked gorgeous, so grown up!

Happy Birthday to my boy!

I can’t believe Alexander is now 13 years old! I am now officially a mum to two teenagers. Gosh I feel so old!!

I must admit Alexander is your typical 13 year old boy. Rarely leaving his bedroom and talking in grunts or shrugs of his shoulders! But there actually the odd day, were he actually talks or even comes outside for some fresh air. These are days I treasure because he is such great company.

My little Alexander was born five weeks early. Pretty much took us all by surprise!

So happy birthday big boy! Love you loads!

My favourite photo of the week #6

This weeks weather has been glorious. I won’t moan and say it’s been to hot!! Harry the cat has spent most of his days this week lying in the shade in our or the neighbour’s garden. He’s struggled to do much the week, apart from leaving a half eaten mouse on the front lawn!!
