If I could change one thing

If I could change one thing about myself, it would be…… To actually like doing housework! I hate it!! My twin sister Becky inherited the domestic Goddess gene from my Mum! Their houses are always beautifully clean, cupboards are tidy and they have absolutely no clutter at all!! How do they do it?? My cupboards are bursting at the seams  and I have piles of clutter!!  I have pretty rubbish excuses such as; my house is only small and we don’t have a lot of storage!

This morning I’ve just spent the last 2 hours losing the will to live as I cleaned behind my sofa and dinning table. I must  try and keep on top of these jobs! The trouble is I can always think of 101 things to do than clean my house, especially when we are on holiday.

I’ve tried many ways to get into a routine,  you name it I’ve probably tried it! I’m in a  sort of a routine at the moment, I currently don’t work on a Monday morning. So I’m able to tidy up then. The only problem is I’m easily distracted, I have a very short attention span! And now I’ve started blogging I’ve got another excuse not to tidy up!!

Do you have any handy tips you could pass on? I loved to hear them!

Enjoy your week. I will now I’ve completed the dreaded house work!!

Ha ha ha! Who does like it?? I don’t mind the vacuuming and dusting bit, thats OK (ish) but I literally HATE doing the hard jobs like the bathrooms or mopping the floor. Yuk! And with two small children the house is always messy and dirty! What we need is the win the lottery and then pay someone to do the lot for us!!!! 🙂 Jess x

I don’t like it either! I can think of a thousand things I would rather do than clean! Especially working full time! Once the toddler is in bed I want to eat dinner and chill and at the weekend I just want to spend my time having fun with him! Who needs a clean house ay?! #sundaystars

Upon taking their last breath, you’ll never hear someone say ‘I WISH I’d spent more of my life cleaning’!! Life is for living — not housework!! 🙂

That said, my top tip for keeping on top of things is — can a little job be done in 5 minutes? If it can, do it. Don’t put it off.

After you’ve done it you can feel good that you’ve achieved something!! Then later on, in the day, if you see something else that needs doing… can it be done in 5 minutes? Works WONDERS!! This is how I keep on top of my cleaning/tidying!! 🙂 #SundayStars

I absolutely love that image! I honestly don’t get anyone who actually likes housework, it is truly rubbish!!! Thanks for linking up and being the first, you must have been up early even if not doing housework. Hopefully drinking coffee! #sundaystars

Hello! You seem to have started blogging the same time as me! Nice to come over to your blog 🙂 I feel EXACTLY the same about housework. I would rather be out enjoying myself or spending time with my son. I’ve just moved in with my ‘house proud’ boyfriend who has plans to redecorate and put new carpets down and all I can hear is “house work or working on the house” blah, blah, blah! I’d rather be having lunch with a glass of wine in my hand 😉
