Smoothie making part two 

On Tuesday we took delivery of our brand new smoothie maker, a Breville pick and mix glass blender. Exciting times. We’d practice before with our mini chopper, so on Wednesday after shopping for the ingredients we gave it ago. This time we went for a berry smoothie. The recipe was:

  • 450g bag of frozen summer berry fruit mix
  • 450g fat free strawberry yoghurt
  • 100ml chilled semi skimmed milk
  • 2 tbsp runny honey

It was super easy to make. All I had to do was put all the ingredients in the blender jug and blend for 20 seconds.

It was delicious. I preferred this one to my last attempt. Everything was well blended together, which meant there was no lumpy bits like last time!

The recipe makes enough for 4, so we saved the leftover smoothie for breakfast the next day.

As a treat for Lauren and Alexander, I also made them an  Oreo cookie milkshake. Not at all healthy!! The recipe is

  • 10 Oreo cookies
  • 5 scoops of good quality ice vanilla ice cream
  • 200ml milk
  • A good squeeze of chocolate sauce.

Again this was simple to make. You need to break up the Oreo cookies and blend them up. Then next, add all the rest of the ingredients and blend everything until nice and frothy!

Lauren and Alexander declared it to be the best milkshake ever!!
